Who makes O+A goods?

From cutting leather and fabric, to sewing, and final assembly, all O+A products are handcrafted by Abby and Heather in the O+A workshop. Their husband's help with various tasks, such as product photography and screen-printing packaging.

Who are Olive and Atlas?

Olive is Abby's lovable French bulldog; you can find her regularly napping next to the sewing machine (Quality Assurance). Atlas is Heather's adventurous Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Border Collie/Cattle Dog rescue; if he's not palling around with his buddies at Doggie Camp, then he's on guard duty at the workshop (Security). These two pups are the inspiration behind the O+A brand.

Where do you buy your materials?

All of our leathers and fabrics are handpicked and purchased from local family businesses in the Pacific Northwest. Most notably, we buy materials from the Pendleton® Woolen Mills store in Portland, Oregon. All hardware is purchased within the U.S.

Do you do custom orders?

Other than our custom nameplates for O+A collars, we are not taking on any other custom projects at this time.

Does the logo charm come with every collar?

Yes. The logo charm comes with every collar in coordinating brass or stainless steel. That being said, they are available for re-purchase in the case that your original charm is lost or needs replacing.

What are the logo charms made of?

Sidewalk style (brass) charms are made of solid brass, and trail style ("silver") logo charms are made of stainless steel.

If a collar comes with brass (sidewalk) hardware, can I replace it with the silver (trail) hardware, and visa versa?

Unless otherwise stated, no. For both aesthetics and functionality, hardware is paired with each collar based on whether it is a sidewalk or trail style.

What's the difference between sidewalk and trail styles?

O+A sidewalk styles feature brass hardware, and are designed with the trend-savvy pup in mind; fabrics/leather colors used tend to be a bolder fashion statement and in line with the current season. O+A trail styles feature silver hardware, and are crafted with the more outdoorsy, rough-and-tumble dog in mind; for these collars, we choose more durable fabrics/wools that breathe, dry out, and wear well.

Can my dog wear O+A collars in water or wet weather?

Atlas has been known to wear all O+A collar styles (sidewalk and trail) in freshwater and leaves them to hang dry after playing. That being said, you may notice wear much more quickly if your dog wears their O+A collar while swimming, so it is not recommended. Saltwater may cause the hardware on your O+A collar to corrode, so be sure to rinse well and dry if it does make contact with saltwater.

Can I clean my O+A collar?

If you feel it's necessary to do so, yes, you can clean your O+A collar.  We recommend spot cleaning or gently wiping away (with a damp cloth) any accumulated dirt or grime that your pup may pick up as they play.  Custom nameplates and logo charms are made of either solid brass or stainless steel.  If you notice a lack of luster in your brass charm or nameplate, we advice using a gentle, all-natural cleaning method to return the brass to it's original shine.
